Hemochromatosis is a metabolic disorder in which the body organs accumulate excess iron, leading to organ damage. It can result from a mutation in the HFE gene or excessive iron from a person’s diet or blood transfusions. Hemochromatosis as shown in figure 1 is also classified as an iron storage disorder in which parenchymal cells excessively accumulate iron, eventually causing tissue destruction and functional insufficiency of organs (1).

Due to improper regulation of intestinal iron absorption in familial hemochromatosis, there is a 0.5–1 g/yrs. net iron build-up. Both the primary and secondary types of this illness run in families due to primary hemochromatosis' hereditary makeup. Some anaemia,..............................
